Principal's Note:

As we approach the winter break, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible spirit that defines our school community. This past week was a shining example of what we can achieve when we work together.

A Heartfelt Thank You

Our winter concert was a resounding success! It was wonderful to see such a full house and to witness the hard work of our students come to life on stage.

A special thank you goes out to our PTO for their tireless support and to every family who contributed home-baked treats for our cookie plate fundraiser. Thanks to your generosity, we raised significant funds to support our music program, ensuring our students continue to have access to high-quality instruments and performing arts opportunities.

Prioritizing Bus Safety

In light of recent events involving school bus accidents within our state, I want to reinforce the importance of bus safety. While we strive for efficiency, the safety of our students is our absolute priority. Please review these four critical safety rules with your children:

The 10-Foot Rule: Always stay at least 10 feet (about 5 big steps) away from the road until the bus comes to a complete stop and the door opens.

Make Eye Contact: Teach your child to make eye contact with the driver before crossing in front of the bus or approaching the door.

Avoid Distractions: Ensure students are not looking at phones or wearing headphones while waiting for or boarding the bus. Their full attention should be on their surroundings.

Wait for the Signal: Students should never approach the bus until the driver gives a clear hand signal that it is safe to do so.

Transportation Updates

Looking ahead, please note that our transportation plan will remain exactly as it is when we return from vacation.

We are currently coordinating with families who do not have direct bus service to arrange alternative school transportation from Golden Road to meet Bus #4 at Farnham’s Way (and the reverse in the afternoons).

Families for whom Golden Road is a shorter distance from their home address than a stop along Bus #4's route will receive an email from me to coordinate the specific logistics and timing for this arrangement.

Thank you for your continued partnership in keeping our school safe and vibrant. I wish you all a restful and happy winter break!

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As the weather starts to get colder it's important to remember to send your children to school with proper outerwear. Please use the infographic below as a guide for what each student needs to be comfortable outside during recess. If you are in need of assistance with winter gear please don't hesitate to contact me directly so I can connect you with local resources.

Thanks,

Nurse Ashley
