Good day!
Our seniors are in their final month of school, it is an exciting time for them and celebrations are in order. The excitement can sometimes cause seniors to lose focus. There are many seniors that still need to earn credits and complete community service in order to graduate, it's important that they attend to the business at hand.
If you have any concerns, please reach out to your child's teachers about how they're doing in their classes (staff directory). If you have concerns about community service hours, please reach out to Wendy Littlefield at wlittlefield@mdirss.org.
Please also speak to your children about responsible and safe celebrations during this prom and graduation season. A memorable event can be forever marred by poor decisions.
The Senior Prom is Saturday, May 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Bar Harbor Regency's Stone House. Seniors are each allowed to invite one guest and need to arrive at the Prom with that guest. They cannot sell their tickets to a third party. All folks attending the prom need to arrive prior to 8 p.m. More details about the prom can be found later in this newsletter.
The last day of classes for seniors will be Wednesday, May 28. There will be mandatory marching practice on Thursday, May 29 and Friday, May 30. Graduation is Sunday, June 1 at 2 p.m.
The final day for all other students is Monday, June 9.
